Stars Come and Go, But The Institution Stays – Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III

 

The Chief Executive Officer of ABS-CBN, Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III catered a stockholders meeting on May 27, 2010 addressing the issue involving Wowowee main man Willie Revillame.  Based on reports, one of the network’s partners appealed the negative financial impact of Revillame’s recent conduct during the open forum.

According to Lopez, “There are ongoing discussions now with Willie and we prefer to keep these discussions at this point between ourselves and Willie.”

He also acknowledged the effect brought by the controversy.  Dealing with a talents behavior, both positive and negative goes with the territory.

The issue also involves reporter and radio anchor Jobert Sucaldito which according to Willie, he has been a victim of negative comments including the Wowowee contestants.  He asked the network to release him to stop the issue.

On May 24, Willie and ABS-CBN management met while after the meeting he  asked for an “indefinite leave” and will not work until August nor guesting into direct program’s competitor.

“These decisions will be made in the proper time.  I think the best decision we made is for both Willie and I to decide that, for the interim, we will both keep silent about what’s going on, and these discussions will be made in the course of the next several months.”

And these is the most stern reminder issued by Lopez to business partners:  “Stars come and go, but the institution stays.”

After the meeting between Willie Revillame and ABSCBN CEO Gabby Lopez, Willie asked for an indefinite break immediately on May 24. 

ABSCBN accepted Willie’s apology and according to them the Wowowee main man has realized his mistake and apologized to the Network Management for his outburst on air in Wowowee on May 4, 2010 and his failure to report to work since May 5, 2010.

ABSCBN and Willie agreed that he takes an indefinite break effective immediately, but his contract obligations with ABSCBN hold.  It means that Willie cannot work for any person or entity in direct competition with the Network.

As regards the future of the show, Willie and the management would still have to discuss on what will be in the best interest of the audience including the public.  Willie might return to the show around August or September or might not return as host of Wowowee.

Pagdating pa lang ni TADO sa ABSCBN, Tuesday morning, kinausap na siya  ng isang Big Boss ng Showtime na may magaganap na “Sorihan Portion” dahil sa mga sigalot na namagitan sa kanila ni Vice Ganda sa Monday Episode ng Showtime.

So nagsimula na ang pagsosorry.  Ngunit ang pagsasabi ng sorry ay may halo pa ring hesitation na marami pang palabok at lumalaban pa rin.  Ayon sa aking narinig sa The Brewrats Republic sa U92.3 FM, meron pala silang script at si Vice Ganda ay lumihis sa script na patuloy pa rin sa pagmamatigas na “Bad” ang pagnanakaw, ngunit hindi n’ya binanggit na masama rin ang Pamamakla.  Ito ay ayon kay Tado na DJ sa station at host ng programa kasama si Ramon Bautista at DJ Angel.

Kung ang isang tao, sincere sa pagsasabi ng Sorry, dapat wala nang “ngunit, pero, kasi” mas maigi pang marinig ang simpleng salitang “SORRY” tpos wala na.

Ganun pa man, sumunod pa rin si TADO sa script at humingi ng paumanhin sa lahat ng taong naoffend sa mga binitawan n’yang linya.

Personally, I don’t think that Tado was serious about his words.  Alam naman natin na halos lahat sa sinasabi ni Tado ay biro.  Mukhang sineryoso lang ni Vice Ganda at napunta sa personalan.  Kahit si Gladys Reyes ay nashock.  Halatang iniwas ni Tado ang init ng ulo ng bumalik s’ya sa commenting sa performers. 

Pero I believe nalungkot din si Vice Ganda sa mga binitawan n’yang salita dahil talagang offensive s’ya.  Inatake n’ya ang buong pagkatao ni Tado pati ang pagkatalo n’ya sa pulitika.  Si Tado naman ay halatang joke lang sa mga “Gays” ang binitawan n’ya.

Pilipinas Got Talent I May 22 EZRA Band and Sherwin Baguion

EZRA band made it to the Finals as their Semi-final entry “Right Here Waiting” receives a lot of comments, good and bad.  Some say, “it has sounded shakey at first but made it right until the end.”  others say, “it was not as impressive as their elims entry.”  So check this video out.

Sherwin Baguion on the other hand performed a Gary Valenciano hit.  He won the votes of Aiai and Krissy, while FMG gave his vote to Fame, the other semi-finalist who failed to attract audiences.

These two performers advances to the Finals night, that information will be posted soon.

ABSCBN O GMA7 Election 2010 Coverage?

 

This 2010 National Election is really special and the most hi-tech ever since the Philippine Election has begun.  Technology wise, the COMELEC introduced the Automated Poll Election while the leading TV Networks in the land do the same thing as they invested hefty amount money just to give the country the top of its best innovative election coverage.  So here’s a video of comparison between the country’s two leading TV Networks, GMA7 and ABSCBN.  Just notice some key points of differences.

Jobert Fights Back Willie’s Bad Mouth: Pikon S’ya Over!

 

Showbiz reporter Marie Lozano tweeted on May 4:  “Just got a text from BUZZ host Jobert Sucaldito, His reaction to Willie trying to get him fired from the station ‘Kaloka sya. Pikon sobra’,” .  This words came out after Willie’s challenge or dare to their mother network to fire Jobert out of all ABSCBN’s shows including DZMM.

Jobert Sucaldito has put into words how he feels about Willie Revillame's call to ABS-CBN management to choose between them.  On May 4, Revillame threatened to resign from his noontime show, “Wowowee,” if the ABS-CBN management does not to fire Sucaldito.

Later that evening, the entertainment writer told “TV Patrol World” in an interview that the threat is unfair.

“I don’t think that’s fair, you challeng the management that if they don’t take me out, Willie will resign.  You don’t have to go that far,  we are all working in the same network.  If Willie doesn’t like what news is writing, he’ll get mad.  It’s okay.  Like if we will write against his wrong doings, he’ll put all the hell in you.”  Sucaldito elaborated.

Wendell Alvarez, Sucaldito’s “Showbiz Mismo” co-host, refuted Revillame’s allegation in an ABS-CBN News interview, saying, “Wala namang sinabi si Jobert doon sa radio about sinisiraan siya. Ang sinabi lang ni Jobert ay tungkol doon sa 75 to 79 grades.

“Hindi niya sinabi na bobo. Ang sinabi niya bakit 75 to 79 ang kukunin, bakit hindi mataas? Para [ma-inspire] ang mga bata na mag-aral nang mabuti para makakuha ng 90 average grade para makapasok ako sa ‘Wowowee.’” Alvarez stressed out.
